Ingredients

For the burger meat
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the salad
  • 6 cups romaine lettuce chopped
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1/2 cup cucumber diced
  • 1/2 cup red onion thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup dill pickle slices
For the special sauce
  • 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon dill pickles finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon pickle juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Method

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef. Break it into crumbles as it cooks.
  2. Add garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Continue cooking until the beef reaches 160°F and is fully browned, about 8 to 10 minutes.
  3. While the beef cooks, whisk together the Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, chopped pickles, pickle juice, and garlic powder in a small bowl until smooth.
  4. Divide the romaine lettuce among four serving bowls.
  5. Top each bowl with tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, cheddar cheese, and pickle slices.
  6. Spoon the warm seasoned beef over the salads.
  7. Drizzle with the special sauce and serve immediately.

Notes

For meal prep, store the beef, vegetables, and sauce separately. Assemble just before serving to keep the lettuce crisp. USDA food safety: Cook ground beef to an internal temperature of 160°F before serving.
