Ingredients
  

For the cheesecake filling
  • 16 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
For the crust and topping
  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter melted

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a 9 by 13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a small bowl mix together the sugar and cinnamon for the topping and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl beat the cream cheese until smooth, then add sugar, egg, and vanilla flavoring. Mix until creamy and fully combined.
  4. Unroll one can of crescent dough and press it evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, sealing any seams.
  5. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the dough layer.
  6. Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the base layer using a spatula.
  7. Unroll the second can of dough and carefully place it over the filling, pressing gently to cover.
  8. Brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar evenly over the surface.
  9. Bake for 28 to 32 minutes until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
  10. Allow to cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing into bars and serving.

Notes

For cleaner slices, chill the bars for 1 hour before cutting and use a sharp knife wiped clean between cuts.
