Method
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef and diced onion. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes until the beef is fully browned and the onion is softened.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
- Drain any excess grease from the skillet.
- Transfer the cooked beef mixture to the crockpot.
- Add the navy beans, ketchup, maple syrup, molasses, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Stir everything together until fully combined.
- Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours until thickened and bubbling.
- Stir before serving.
Notes
For even deeper flavor, make the baked beans a day ahead and reheat before serving. The sauce thickens and becomes richer overnight.
