For the Pudding Mixture
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 8 ounces whipped topping thawed
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
For the Layers
  • 3 bananas sliced
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries sliced
  • 1 box vanilla wafer cookies

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl whisk together vanilla pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes until thickened.
  2. In another bowl beat cream cheese until smooth. Mix in sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract until creamy.
  3. Fold the cream cheese mixture into the prepared pudding. Gently fold in whipped topping until fully combined.
  4. In a trifle dish or 9x13-inch baking dish arrange a layer of vanilla wafer cookies on the bottom.
  5. Add a layer of sliced bananas and strawberries over the cookies.
  6. Spread a layer of pudding mixture over the fruit.
  7. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with pudding mixture on top.
  8. Garnish with extra strawberries, banana slices, and crushed vanilla wafers if desired.
  9. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving for the best texture and flavor.
